AP: Town Hall Meeting on Juvenile Justice Set in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A town hall meeting on juvenile justice reform is set in Richmond.

Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice director Andrew Block is scheduled to attend Thursday evening’s event. People who have been incarcerated in the state’s juvenile correctional facilities, as well as their families and other advocates of reform, will join him to talk about how to best make the system more just, safe and effective.

Organizers say the forum will focus on four topics: prevention, alternatives to youth incarceration, family and community engagement, and re-entry support for youth who come in contact with the system.
