Healthy Communities Secure Care Legislation Endorsement

Virginia must provide all young people with the opportunities they deserve to learn and grow from their mistakes. The Healthy Communities Secure Care Legislation will ensure that Virginia is following the best documented practices for youth justice, and departing from a racist and destructive status quo. This legislation ensures that young people who need secure care receive it in small facilities of 30 beds or less and located in the communities the youth are from. Further, this legislation helps us move in the direction of creating deep sustainable public safety that combines investment in young people with investment in the communities where they live. Sign on in support of the legislation here.
